Full disclosure, I haven’t eaten a hotdog at a baseball game in over a decade, but that doesn’t mean I’m not paying attention to encased meats of all sorts. I don’t track the prices or all of the toppings, but I’ve noticed several things.
Your basic steamed/boiled product should be the least expensive protein-based food item. It also should have the highest margin of the proteins. That being said, the numbers add up when your little one has to have a hotdog with the little packets of watered down condiments.
If it’s not about the exotic toppings, I recommend some of the smaller, kid friendly options. They may not come with Tums but you can likely afford them. Don’t forget to adjust for tax and tip when you tabulate your game costs.
