With the #1 pitching prospect in the game making his ML debut against my Cubs tonight, I should be focusing on Kade Anderson, the Cubs and David Peterson, but I’m more honked off about a generic omission.

Since my local paper has been gobbled up by the Chicago Tribune, I’ve been able to consume my baseball news the way I did in my youth. I much prefer the full-page scoreboard approach to daily box scores. I have no idea where the Trib gets their info or who curates the “Around the Horn” section. I know they have limited space to cover the non-local teams, but I think they made a horrible choice by not highlighting Cade Cavalli’s most recent feat. In his most recent start, he blanked the Rangers for six innings. Notably, in his previous start, he dang-near no-hit the Cubs. He limited them to one hit over 8 shutout innings. So big picture, Cavalli has thrown 14 consecutive scoreless innings, allowed three hits and struck out 21 batters. I’m not nominating him for student body president, but merely suggesting that this warrants a little press.
