It’s taken a few days to track down a couple shots from last Sunday’s game between the Cubs and Mets. I especially enjoy action shots of the stolen base variety or the attempted stolen base. In this case, Pete Crow-Armstrong was thrown out at second.

While nobody is questioning his effort, PCA has not followed up his rookie season the way anyone has wanted (and he’s getting paid big bucks) but his baserunning has been iffy at best this year.
During the recently completed winning streak, the team got contributions from several players, many who weren’t on the opening day roster. 30-year-old reliever, Corbin Martin is one of the surprise contributors. In his Cubs debut Sunday, he pitched an inning of shutout relief before Caleb Thielbar earned the victory.

As I’m typing this, Martin (above) is still perfect in 4 appearances.
I’m not going to suggest these pictures and comments were worth the wait, however, I did wish to finish the post.
We’ll see who steps up in the next couple of weeks.
