After another disappointing0offensive showing despite 110% of their batted balls being “hard hit”, I don’t want to read that any position player on the Cubs 26-man roster has a positive WAR (any goofy iteration) or that Ian Happ is a sure thing gold glover. My one question, is whether Caleb Thielbar’s magic has evaporated or did the Cubs resign the wrong guy.

Before the Cubs placed Phil Maton on the IL with knee issues, someone posited what was wrong with him and my immediate thoughts were a) that he’s not any good and b) the Cubs should not have gotten another former Astro reliever.

Thank goodness Alex Bregman drove in a run to tie up today’s game with the Pirates at 3 before failing in the 11th. My worries are over!
