This early in the season (anytime through early May in the Midwest) one risks a rainout or snow out if you hope to attend a baseball game-especially a minor league game.
For the past 10 days I’ve been following the weather forecasts for the next couple of days in Wisconsin and Michigan. Instead, I should have worried more about what happened closer to home. While there are small glimmers of hope in a couple MWL cities, I won’t be going anywhere this weekend because of the havoc closer to home.
I’ve read several stories about how teams’ seasons have already ended, six or seven games in and despite a game one victory, nobody is expecting a first division for the White Sox. After great starts a couple teams have reverted to the mean and a couple teams that got routed in the first series, have responded nicely. Amazingly, the Cincinnati Reds have done something that hasn’t been done since 1960. They have lost 3 consecutive games 1-0 despite Terry Francona taking over as manager.
Anyone that’s followed the game for more than 37 minutes knows this too shall pass, but it’s funny how some people are overreacting to both the good and bad starts. It’s a long season so buckle up and enjoy the ride!
