I’m neither a car enthusiast, nor interested in auto racing of any sort. However, after reading this AP story in this morning’s newspaper, I’m considering a visit to Winston-Salem, North Carolina this summer. Of course, the focus would be attending a Dash game (Hi-A) game and seeing what other ballparks are within an easy drive.
I’ve never wanted to attend an event based on continuous left turns and not just because I’ve been on intermittent crossing guard duty for the past five years. That being said, I’m really intrigued by the ambiance of Bowman Gray Stadium. I don’t think I’d have to attend with anyone to enjoy the experience.
As little as I know about cars and auto racing, I love the vibe surrounding the Indy 500 and the environs. I was transfixed by all of the winning cars on display in the showroom/museum.
If anyone has any suggestions for a North Carolina road trip, I’m open.
I guess you don’t have to be in Philadelphia to boo a ten-year-old.
