The Cubs head to New York to take on the Yankees in a three-game set having just burned their two best starters, Justin Steele and Marcus Stroman. The odds favor the Yankees, but baseball may intervene.

The bigger more troubling news is the arrival of the Cardinals in Chicago. St. Louis comes to town with a 36-51 record and sole possession of last place in the NL Central. The Sox are the AL Central equivalent with a 37-52 record.

I have one Cub fan friend “who doesn’t hate the Cardinals”, but does have a strong dislike for everything White Sox. Who do we root for this weekend? The Cubs aren’t exactly flourishing these days, but they are a little less of a disappointment.
