Here’s a very brief initial post after that exhausting extra inning affair last night. I know some people are going to criticize every move each manager made, and highlight where the Jays went wrong. There was so much inherent drama that it seems criticism would diminish all that everyone enjoyed.
For so many people to be engaged in a Series that they had no skin in was impressive and from what I heard during the course of the battle, people found different aspects of the game to focus on. There was something for everyone.
It’s only natural for fans of teams who didn’t participate to look for things their clubs could model. Unfortunately, one of the common threads between the Jays and Dodgers was payroll, and most teams don’t have the financial means to compete at this level. However, every ML owner has the ability to sell the team to someone who has the means and desire to spend more money and repay their fans’ trust.
More scintillating commentary to follow.
