At long last the 2025 World Series is here and there are several narratives that FOX and company will be pursuing over the next couple of weeks. Some have been percolating over the past month or so. Some people have been suggesting it’s a battle between Goliath’s with not a David in sight.
I think some Dodger fans are having a hard time believing that everyone isn’t rooting for them to repeat. Some of us on the Jays bandwagon might even be rooting against Shohei Ohtani, while respecting and acknowledging that he is the best player in the game today.
Even though I am openly rooting for the Jays generally and a few players specifically, I was pretty excited when Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts announced that Blake Snell and Yoshinobu Yamamoto would be starting games one and two respectively. That doesn’t bode well for Toronto, but I appreciate that the Dodgers will be going old school, the insinuation was that Glasnow and Ohtani could start the following two games. I’m completely over openers and would rather see starters roughed up than watching a parade of mediocre relievers with +4 ERAs.
As I’ve said many times before, I love how anyone can step up and be the hero without even being on the roster earlier in the postseason. It’s fun and aggravating to see who makes and misses the final cut. The minute I finish here I’m going to check out the rosters and look for guys I know.
Enjoy the games!
