While posting the other day about fan reactions in different markets, I neglected to mention something hilarious. I’m one of those folks that believe the Phillies have an extreme homefield advantage and not just because their outfielders are more familiar with the nooks and crannies in the outfield. It really is about the crazy fans and their proximity to the field.
Not only are the #2 seed in the NL down 0-2 to the Dodgers, they lost both games at home. Throw in that the highly touted Eagles lost at home to the Denver Broncos this past weekend. Knowing Philly fans the way I do, they are probably doubting the safety of the Liberty Bell and the quality of meat in their vaunted cheesesteaks.
As with the Cubs and their fans, I’m not so sure if a quick sweep by the Dodgers would be more painful than winning only one game before being sent to the golf course. Regardless of the outcome, will Philadelphia look to lock Kyle Schwarber up for a few years or will he enter the market with Kyle Tucker.
