Rather than relying on social media, I have to wonder who the fans are blaming for each of the remaining teams’ losses in the Wild Card round. After all each of the teams has lost a game. And from what I’ve seen, each manager isn’t without fault and may be culpable for his team’s failures. I also think several players have failed miserably on the field.
The beauty of sports, especially baseball is that players can rewrite their stories immediately. As has been suggested by a friend, one offensive explosion from the Cubs today and all is forgotten.
Sloppy fielding, poor baserunning and suspect plate discipline can all be remedied today as well. Who is going to bounce back and make us all forget about the boo-boos?
