Blame Cub fans all you want for cramming into Wrigley Field despite the team’s record at any given point, but you can’t hate on fans wanting to see the team play. Yesterday afternoon at Sloan Park in Mesa, 16,161 fans showed up to see the Cubs defeat the Mariners.
With no derision in their voices, the A’s announcers have been going through the Cubs record crowds in Arizona and Las Vegas the past few seasons. It’s kind of nice to hear out of market folks just stating the truth without editorializing.
