This afternoon two broadcasters saved my life, hum to last night a DJ saved my life. Thankfully, the Cubs interrupted a default national radio show that covered everything but baseball.
Today’s broadcast was the first of the season for Pat Hughes and Ron Coomer working together. As they pointed out several times, they’re working out the bugs just like the players. However, they immediately established in-season rhythm that they are famous for.
If I can’t be in Arizona for ST, there’s nothing I’d rather be doing on a Sunday afternoon. Listening to a ball game and envisioning a postgame meal in the Valley is the perfect prep for work on Monday. Even if I’m flying solo, it’s one of the reasons I prefer staying in town on Sunday night.
Unfortunately, I learned the duo isn’t making the trip with the team to Tokyo and that they’ll be calling the games from Wrigley Field. Yuk!
