While it’s 55 degrees and sunny in Greater Chicago today, I’d prefer being transported to a Cactus League game or two. We’re only 9 days away from the Dodgers-Cubs battle in Tokyo and I’m ready for baseball. Including the Brewers, baseball fans in Chicago have access to three ML teams on the radio. Yet, all I got today is NBA garbage. The call on the radio was so bad that I had no idea who was playing.
True NBA fans admit that the first 43 minutes of every regular season game is not watchable and I’ll argue the only thing more painful than listening to the hype of TB broadcasters, is listening to four quarters on the radio.
It’s hard to get excited for a league and its unmotivated players that they need a faux, midseason tournament that is even more confusing and meaningless than the postseason play-in games.
While mlb.com isn’t offering any radio casts this afternoon, A’s v. Dbacks is being offered for free. It has to be better than Seattle v. Colorado.
