In the last three minutes I’ve read two different stories about predicted busts for the upcoming baseball season. I know editors ask a lot of writers especially as readership is down and not just for print publications. Ergo, writers write for clicks. Maybe it’s just the law of averages, but picking Teoscar Herdnandez of the Dodgers and Michael Busch of the Cubs, were odd choices. If Busch doesn’t repeat his rookie season, it’s really not that much of a surprise-even if the Cubs traded away Cody Bellinger. Hernandez, however, signed a 3-year deal for $66 million.
After the surprising trade between the Lakers and Mavs the other day, many criticized the move because Anthony Davis is frail. Even though he won a title, I have to laugh when they refer to him as AD. Anyone who has followed the league for more than an hour knows there’s another AD, Adrian Dantley. To prove the critics, correct, Davis was injured in his first game with the Lakers and had to be pulled. Johnny Kerr is rolling over in Lou Gehrig’s grave.
