Last weekend I accidentally bumped into the radio call of the DePaul men’s game against UConn. Thankfully, it was for about 48 seconds and I’m not sure if it was part of the pregame show. Regardless, longtime Blue Demon Dave Corzine remarked how the Huskies ran plays/sets as if it was a foreign concept. It wasn’t a dig at his team but rather a “noticing” of something that plagues more than DePaul. More teams than not don’t appear to run plays anymore. Ultimately, coaching does matter and if they can run plays that repeatedly work, they’ll win. It works in football as well.
