Was I the only non-Texan wishing for a quick end to yesterday afternoon’s game on FOX? I was led to believe that the World Series pregame show was supposed to be airing.
After a quick bathroom break, I got what I sort of wanted, the FOX pregame show. I kept it on against my better judgement and if you are related to any of the Big Three, I apologize for what I am about to type.
Guys, you make it all about you and not the two teams on the field. We don’t care about any of the Red Sox or Yankees teams from the 90’s. We’ve tuned it to watch the 2024 Yankees and Dodgers. Don’t even bother telling us what you said yesterday before the game. Picking Freddy Freeman isn’t going out on a limb.
It’s even fair to question any and all of the managerial decisions of the last game(s). I know it’s hard to criticize two guys you like and may have even played with. Players have to perform, but managers do play a role in the postseason. The pitching decisions they made in previous rounds do impact what they can do in the Series.
It’s even fair to question big picture roster decisions. None of this has anything to do with the games’ outcomes, but rather the presentation. I only wish that the producers might yell something in their earbuds occasionally. Ron Darling shows great restraint when talking about his playing career in the middle of a game. He only referenced his Mets career when calling last round’s game, the most exciting he’s witnessed and those with a memory might recall the 1986 NLCS that he participated in.
