Because of MLB’s greed and hubris, they have to cram a bunch of WC games into single days and are forced to televise a couple afternoon games immediately. I won’t pretend to applaud their choices for broadcast teams because I dislike too many guys and pairings.
After a half day of work/training at my new gig, I’m able to sit and watch the Tigers-Astros early game. Whether they’ve finished or not, I’ll happily switch over to Mets-Brewers (likely with the radio on).
As a kid of the playoff era, I grew up accustomed to afternoon playoff baseball. As painful as the series turned out to be, escaping classes to watch Padres-Cubs at Wrigley in 84 was a highlight of sophomore year in college.
As a younger fan, I remember the afternoon games that were postponed due to rain-that felt like Wrigley pre-lights.
For anyone interested, I think whoever gets the best from their starting pitchers will have the most success and that’s why I initially and grudgingly thought the Astros would battle for the WS.
