I think 20+ years ago, most baseball fans assumed that Dusty Baker’s young son, Darren, would get the opportunity to play in the big leagues. And for those of us that follow these things, it comes as no surprise that Darren was one of the Nationals call-ups today.
Fittingly, he was inserted into today’s lineup against one of Dusty’s former teams, the Cubs. While everyone will remember Darren’s most famous moment as a youth, being yanked off the field in the middle of the 2002 World Series, Cub fans will recall him as Dusty’s human shield during “rough” press conferences.
Of course, he got a hit in his first ML at-bat, one of only five on the day as the Cubs routed them 14-1.
3 packs of Chuckles for the first person to name the guy that saved Darren from a collision at the plate. Hint: his father was NFL wide receiver, Jack Snow.

JT Snow. I once sent him a Jack Snow card and he sent me his very own card autographed. This was when he was a rookie….yes, I’m old.
