One need not dig too deeply these days to find connections between ML players. Guys move around from team to team (sometimes so quickly they never suit up for the team) that nobody can keep track.

I’m sure someone in the media will pretend they saw the Chris Sale to the Braves trade coming, but I cry “Liar, liar pants on fire.” Heck, if you believed the Braves brass, Vaughn Grissom was being groomed for the outfield and not in Fenway.

Without knowing the exact timeline, in one fell swoop, the Red Sox traded away one former White Sox pitcher while signing another one, Lucas Giolito to a two-year free agent deal. If that doesn’t make White Sox fans heads’ spin, get ready for more.

The free-spending Cincinnati Reds signed a third former White Sox pitcher to a one-year deal today. Frankie Montas has spent most of his ML career, not in Chicago, but did make his ML debut with the Pale Hose back in the day.

I’m betting that none of the press releases for the three players mention their White Sox time, but I’m sure their fans will take note.
