Remember when Jim Harbaugh and Michigan couldn’t beat Ohio State? Note the omission of the famous article. If you think the outcome of this match is a certainty then you haven’t followed the hype of the Big Ten.
I can count on three hands the number of times Ohio State has been tapped for hoops greatness. They haven’t won spit since Bobby Knight and John Havlicek suited up. The great Thad Motta and I have won the same number of titles (zero).
I appreciate that both schools consider anything short of a national championship a failure. That being said, both fanbases (alumni) are pretty insufferable, win or lose.
I had a Denny Crum moment yesterday afternoon when some highlight host suggested that Kentucky and Louisville had some sort of a football rivalry, and that Kentucky’s victory knocked Louisville out of the playoffs. When did either of these football teams become relevant? Yes, I know about Lamar Jackson of Louisville. You need at least one Pitino to jazz up the football version.
There were some better football rivalry games played yesterday with less of the national glare. Some of those games might have been even more enjoyable.
