I guess it’s a safe bet that if you have a laptop and an email address, you’re a frequent Amazon customer, maybe even a Prime account holder. Lo and behold, I’ve never purchased anything on Amazon nor do I feel the urgency to open an account.
That’s what makes the 2-4 urgent emails I receive daily from “Amazon” that something dreadful will happen to me if I don’t act immediately and click on something. Gee, save for the fact I don’t have an account, I’m in no rush to unleash some scourge upon my laptop and being. I guess the scammers figure I’m worth the effort.
What’s even funnier is the daily (sometimes) message in my spam folder from Amzon or other equally, poorly misspelled approximations for Amazon. We all get spam mail from big corporations or scammers posing as the big guys, but it’s those that are so far off that are funniest.
I ended my relationship with Pay Pal years ago after some major technical glitches and breaches security that I won’t open anything from PP no matter how attractive it may seem.
Internet scammers are pretty insidious and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but in the meantime they provide me with some pretty big laughs.
