On the very day the Cubs reacquired Jeimer Candelario in a trade with the Nationals, I stumbled upon a 2013 scorecard from a Kane County Cougars-Clinton Lumberkings game. 2013 was the first of two seasons that the Low-A Cubs called Geneva, Il home.

Four future major leaguers suited up for the Cougars that day-most notably Candelario, Willson Contreras, Marco Hernandez and reliever Tayler Scott.

After a couple hundred minor league games in the past decade, how much has changed in my scoring of a game, scorecards, and expectations for prospects?

Unfortunately, the scorecard is a reminded that the MWL went from 14 teams to 10 after the 2020 minor league season was cancelled and that Kane County and Clinton were among the 42 minor league casualties.
