Riddle me this?

I’ll accept that the science, medicine, training, and people are better, but why are there so many hamstring and oblique injuries in ML baseball? Have you ever been to a ML game where players spend more time stretching than signing autographs?

Yet, guys tweak, strain and tear hamstrings running the bases. They strain and pull obliques swinging bats and throwing pitches. When was the oblique injury invented? Pitchers have had arm, back and shoulder injuries for decades and Tommy John surgery has been around since, Tommy John had surgery.

One would think that the emphasis on nutrition, diet, fitness, biomechanics, strength and conditioning would be more proactive in the enhancement of performance. Who is to blame? Trying to figure out the causes and cures for arm fatigue have stymied the geniuses of the game. I know nobody wants to blame anyone for anything, but when so many players spend so much time on the IL, you’d think someone would figure it out and do something about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d strain an oblique reaching for an iced tea, but I’m not a professional athlete.
