There are terms and phrases with historical context that have become part of our lexicon. We often forget the original dates or events, not so here.

Today marks the 79th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944. One need not have ever visited Normandy to appreciate what those brave men accomplished. I don’t expect any of the professional sports leagues or entertainment venues to stop for a moment, but it wouldn’t hurt to remember and thank those who fought for freedom.
