How much do the Bears mean to Chicago?

Sox rookie manager Pedro Grifol owes the Bears big time. Were the Bears not in the middle of the NFL draft making all sorts of questionable decisions, the local media might be forced to talk and write about the Sox.

We all use distractions to our advantage, whether it’s to switch subjects during a cocktail party or to completely distract someone from doing their jobs. The better general managers make unpopular decisions when they know something bigger is happening. Believe it or not, elected officials understand the news cycle and use it to their advantage when sharing news with the public.

Some White Sox fans are probably glad that someone else (The Bears)is in the news right now. The Bulls are also lucky the sports media is focusing on the Bears and not their failure to make the playoffs. They could have been the #8 seed that could have surprised the #1 seed Bucks in the first round of the playoffs. Okay, maybe they wouldn’t have stood a chance against Milwaukee. That’s another conversation they’re happy not to be having right now. At least the Hawks were in complete tank mode this season.
