Last night, the Cubs and Mariners combined for 23 runs, 28 hits, 8 walks and 2 errors and yet the game took only 3:02. Thank you pitch clock! I’m heading to my first game of the season this afternoon. Cubs ace, Marcus Stroman (2-0 no runs allowed) battles Logan Gilbert. Just when one thinks they have this thing called baseball figured out, something basebally will happen.
I’m looking forward to being able to post about an actual game and the experience of seeing a game with friend Jon-who has already been to a slew of games.
In other news, someone asked if the 11-0 Rays are for real. I said that they won’t go 162-0 (I’ll bet on it), but I know they are for real and that these early 11 wins will come in handy.
Incidentally, this balanced schedule is working out very nicely for the Cubs, heading into today’s series finale, the Cubs are 4-1 against the AL West.
