It’s socially unacceptable to express a contrary opinion regarding any of the new rule changes or the new balanced schedule. The thinking behind the balanced schedule seemed logical when proposed. Each team plays all of the other 29 teams each year. Fans will finally have the chance to see all of the big stars play against their team(s) while sacrificing games with division foes.
As a result, teams are being forced to play some season series immediately as is the case with the Cubs and Dodgers. They will face off 7 times in 10 days and only play against NL division foes 6 times in the first 28 games. Because the Cubs got rained out in Cincinnati, they will be forced to play a doubleheader later this season in Cincy. They only visit Cincinnati one more time this season and that rattled one of the announcers. In a mad rush for even more money, MLB has sacrificed certain things. Some people will like all of the decisions, some will hate them and will be shamed for expressing their opinions.
