Blow up your brackets

Someone probably knows that co-worker who picked Farleigh Dickinson to beat Purdue yesterday, despite the 23.5 line. Okay, that person can claim victory for today. The rest of us are shaking our heads and trying to figure out how we can salvage something. I’m betting a few of us have slightly better second or third options.

It seemed like only yesterday the Princeton Tigers were this year’s darlings after upsetting #2 Arizona. This one is different in my mind. I don’t think of the more heavily endowed universities as being true underdogs-regardless of what conference they play in. Either way, some of the fat cats are taking it on the chin.

Luckily for the FDU fans, they haven’t had to travel too far to enjoy their success. They won their first game in Dayton as part of the play-in series and drove to Columbus. I have no idea how big the traveling party is, but I have some idea what they’re experiencing right now. Being a part of a student section, on the road, for the Big Dance, is something they will remember for years.

I don’t know anything about the bars on campus in West Lafayette, but I know the folks at Triple XXX Family Restaurant will be serving up plenty of coffee this morning.
