We’re finally in week 18 of the NFL and teams are either jockeying for a draft pick or playoff seeding. I can’t say that I expect great effort from everyone playing this weekend.

As a college hoops fan, I hate hearing that my team is looking to win their second game in a row. I think I’m better off expecting more from the Bears tomorrow.

It is nice to see that the Big East owns Saturday afternoons on FOX Sports though. Back when ESPN was the most relevant college avenue for college hoops, Big Monday was must see TV and their announcers bled Big East.

College sports on television is at its best when the broadcasters are as excited as the fans in the stands. Enthusiasm for good play isn’t the same as homerism. That being said, some of the coaches need to smile a little more after a nice win.
